(Iowa) -- Des Moines Area Community College is being recognized as one of the best community colleges in the country.
The Aspen Institute has named DMACC as an Aspen Prize Top 200 U.S. Community College, a recognition of performance and achievement among two-year colleges across the country. DMACC is now eligible to apply and compete for the $1,000,000 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, the organization's top community college award. The Aspen Institute selected 200 community colleges nationwide based on data from the National Center for Education Statistics and National Student Clearinghouse.
The Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence was started in 2010, and the next prize will be awarded in the spring of 2027. The full list of the 200 community colleges selected for recognition is available on the Aspen Institute website.
