(Iowa) -- Hy-Vee is extending its reduced meal program to support families affected by the recent lapse in SNAP benefits.

The grocery chain announced that $3 meals and free kids' meals will now be available through November 14 at all Hy-Vee locations with hot food service.

Dinner will be served next week from 4 to 7 p.m., and breakfast will be available on Saturday and Sunday.

Meals are offered for dine-in or carry-out, and no proof of SNAP enrollment is required.
