(Iowa) -- People are across Iowa are talking about the vivid northern lights overnight.
An especially large solar flare caused a G4 geomagnetic storm Tuesday night. That led to bright pink and green auroras, with Iowa in the best viewing range.
The Space Weather Prediction Center says the G4 storm will die down by 4 pm, and a G3 is predicted Wednesday evening after 7pm.
But there are some predictions it will go the other way and be as bright or brighter.
