A Des Moines Public Schools official is resigning several weeks after being placed on administrative leave.

Robert Lundin, the chief academic officer of Des Moines Public Schools, is resigning his position. The district accepted his resignation on Tuesday night.

In a statement to our newsroom, DMPS said this separation was a mutual decision and not based on any discipline or misconduct by Dr. Lundin.

He was placed on administrative leave in early October for what was described as a personnel matter. Lundin's resignation is effective June 30, 2026.
