(Des Moines, IA) -- A Downtown Des Moines ice rink won't open Friday (11/21) as planned. Brenton Skating Plaza is an outdoor rink located at 520 Robert D. Ray Dr. along the Des Moines River.
The operators say because of forecasted warmer weather this weekend, conditions will not be suitable for the ice. Opening is now delayed until Thanksgiving Day at 5 pm.
The rink opened in 2006 thanks to a donation from the Brenton Foundation, a non-profit.
