Des Moines Man Sentenced to up to 30 years in Prison for Road-Rage Shooting

(Des Moines, IA) -- A Des Moines man is sentenced to up to 30 years in prison after being convicted of a road-rage shooting last year.

36 year-old Brandon Butters was convicted of multiple charges related to the November 1st, 2024 shooting that left a motorcyclist with a gunshot wound to the arm. Butters must serve a minimum of 8 years in prison. He was originally charged with attempted murder, but the jury found him guilty of the lesser charge of assault with intent to cause serious injury.
