(Linn County, IA) -- The third man accused in the murder of Melody Hoffman of Marion earlier this year is receiving a suspended 10-year prison sentence.

Logan Kimpton entered an Alford plea, meaning he maintains his innocence but acknowledges the state has the evidence needed to prove his guilt.

Investigators say Kimpton helped buy the weapons and gloves used in the murder, but told them he chickened out of the actual crime.

Kimpton will be on probation for three years.

Dakota Van Patten and McKinley Louisma are serving life sentences for the murder.
