City of Indianola Selects New Police Chief

(Indianola, IA) -- The Indianola Police Department has a new Chief of Police.

The City of Indianola has promoted Captain Rob Hawkins to serve at the next police Chief at the Indianola Police Department. He's been serving as the interim chief of police since the retirement former police chief Brian Sher in September. Hawkins has served in the Indianola Police Department since 2000.

Hawkins holds a bachelor's degree from American Military University and a master's degree from Liberty University. He is a retired 22-year veteran of the Iowa Army National Guard and a has been a substitute teacher in the Indianola Community School District for 13 years.
