(Des Moines, IA) -- A man was found dead in a homeless encampment in north Des Moines, believed to have died from cold exposure.
“They discovered him in his hut or tent and contacted the medical examiner’s office. It appeared to be a cold or weather-related death, but the body will undergo a full autopsy by the Polk County Medical Examiner,” said Lieutenant Mark Chance with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
No identification was found on the man. Law enforcement is still investigating.
