Blue Star Mothers Launches Campaign To Boost Morale of Iowa National Guard

(Johnston, IA) -- Cards are flooding in to boost the morale of the comrades of the two Iowa National Guardsmen killed in Syria. A ceremony for 25-year old Edgar Torres Tovar of Des Moines and 29-year old Nate Howard of Marshalltown took place at Dover Airforce Base in Delaware when their bodies arrived in the United States. The guardsmen died December 13 in an ISIS attack. A U.S civilian acting as an interpreter also died.

Both Torres Tovar and Howard were members of the 1rst Squadron, 113th Calvary Regiment. Their deaths leave their fellow Guard members is dealing with the loss. The Blue Star Mothers of Iowa is launching a campaign to flood the 113th with letters and cards of support.
