(Iowa) -- The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is reporting cases of bird flu at two Iowa lakes.
The DNR says cases of H5 Avian Influenza have been confirmed in Canada geese at Green Valley Lake in Union County and Lake of Three Fires in Taylor County. The DNR is encouraging the public to avoid sick geese or geese that are easily approached without appearing injured and to report more than 20 or more dead geese in a small area.
The number of Canada geese is up across the state as part of the birds' annual migration.
