(Des Moines, IA) -- The Governor has appointed two new members to the Iowa Board of Regents.

Steve Lacy, former CEO of Meredith Corporation, and Peter Cownie, a former member of the Iowa House of Representatives, will join the board.

Lacy currently serves as Chair and CEO of Vistage Worldwide, where he coaches and advises small and midsize businesses.

Cownie, a Republican, served on the Education, Ways & Means, and State Government Efficiency committees during his time in the legislature. He is now Executive Director of the Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation.

Both appointments require confirmation by the state Senate. Earlier this month, the former Board of Regents president resigned, and another member announced she was stepping down as president pro tem.
