(Bettendorf, IA) -- The city of Bettendorf is looking at helping homeowners who have to replace their sewer lines with some of the costs.
Under a policy proposal headed to City Council early in the new year, the city would cover the costs of street pavement replacement which they say often makes up half the cost of a sewer replacement bill.
That would leave the homeowner with just the cost of the sewer itself, which can be paid through homeowners, or utility insurance.
Davenport and Rock Island already have similar programs.
