(Des Moines, IA ) -- One person is dead and another is in custody following a New Year’s Day shooting in downtown Des Moines.
Police responded to reports of gunfire on Court Avenue and found a 30-year-old man in critical condition. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
Investigators say evidence shows 31-year-old Jordan Carmi shot the victim during a dispute. Carmi has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
