(Ames, IA) -- Wendy Wintersteen has officially retired as president of Iowa State University. She previously served as dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences before becoming the university’s 16th president in 2017. Wintersteen was also the first woman to hold the position.
David Spalding, dean of Iowa State’s Ivy College of Business, will serve as interim president until David Cook takes over in March.
