Former Baxter City Officials Booked On Theft Charges

(Baxter, IA) -- The former Baxter, Iowa, police chief has been charged with theft after a state audit showed $90,000 was misspent by the city.

48 year old William Daggett faces charges of theft and misconduct.

He resigned as Mitchellville's police chief the same day a state audit was released showed he collected improper payments from the City of Baxter.

The former Baxter City Clerk, 29 year old Katelyn Wilson is charged with unauthorized computer access.
