WalletHub: Iowa Sees 3rd Smallest Decrease in Credit Scores

(Iowa) -- A new national study looking at credit score decreases in all 50 states find credit scores among Iowa residents are holding steady.

WalletHub analyzed consumer finance data from the third quarter of 2024 to the third quarter of last year. The study ranked Iowa 48th out of the 50 states behind only North Dakota and Utah, meaning Iowa saw the third smallest decrease in credit scores during that time period. The average credit score in Iowa last year was 707, down 0.28 percent from the previous year's 709.

Topping the list of states with the largest decrease in credit scores is Missouri, which saw a drop of 1.51% to an average credit score of 654. The full report is available on WalletHub's website.
