(Des Moines, IA) -- The Des Moines Police Department says cold exposure may have been a contributing factor to a death currently under investigation.
DMPD says medics responded to reports of a person down in a trailer park on the city's southeast side Wednesday morning. When first responders arrived, they found a 51 year-old man dead at the scene. Investigators say there was no indication of traumatic injury.
Later that day, Police received a call to report a missing person. Friends of the missing person said he had been periodically homeless and had been missing for five days. Police later confirmed that the body found at the trailer park was that of the man reported missing. The cause of death is still under investigation.
