Recruits in Des Moines Fire Department's 104th Academy Now in Training

(Des Moines, IA) -- The 104th class of recruits at the Des Moines Fire Department is now in training.

The 14 future firefighters will be in training for a year completed certifications in firefighting and emergency medicine. Training begam at 6am on Monday, January 26th. After graduation from the Des Moines Fire Academy, the newly-certified firefighters will join teams at the city's 11 fire stations early next year. The City of Des Moines is accepting applications for the 105th class. Those accepted to the 105th class will start their year-long training in early 2027.
