(Des Moines, IA) -- An annual scavenger hunt is underway in the city of Des Moines.

The City of Des Moines is holding its annual Treesure Hunt contest, where participants try to find tree-themed art installations in the city's skywalks and identify marked trees at city parks. There are three tree-themed displays in the city's skywalks and four marked trees at city parks, one in each of the city's four wards. Next to each installation in the skywalk and marked tree at Des Moines city parks will be QR code where participants can enter for a chance to win a free tree. Participants can also enter by uploading a photo of any tree in the city limits of Des Moines.

The winner will receive a free tree, which can be planted on their own personal property or at a location in the city of Des Moines. The contest runs through March 20th.

More information, including the full contest rules and a printable Treesure Hunt map, is available at the City of Des Moines website.
