The Sarpy County 911 center will have a new home next year.
The county is renovating a building on its main campus in Papillion.
The Sarpy County 911 center dispatches law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services for the Cities of Bellevue, Gretna, La Vista, Papillion, and Springfield, in addition to unincorporated parts of the county.
The county says Sarpy dispatchers receive, on average, more than 5,000 calls to 911 and more than 8,700 non-emergency calls each month.
The county bought a neighboring building at 1200 Golden Gate Drive, with the intent to convert it to a modern 911 center.
The county worked with Clark & Enersen on the design plan and has contracted with construction manager Beckenhauer Construction.
Dispatchers have worked out of the basement in the county’s administration building since 1995.
The current center will serve as a back-up facility once the renovation is complete, expected in early 2027.
