Final Defendant in of a Des Moines Man in 2024 Sentenced to Prison

(Polk County, IA) -- The final defendant in the killing of a Des Moines man in November of 2024 has been sentenced to prison.

20 year-old Alexzander Jewett of Boone was sentenced to 55 years in prison with a mandatory 10 and a half years before becoming eligible for parole. Jewett pleaded guilty to multiple charges for is role in the death of Bruce Murray, who was found bound and strangled in his own apartment.

Jewett also pleaded guilty to attacking an inmate in the Polk County Jail in October of last year.
