(Des Moines, IA) -- The Des Moines Police Department is investigating a shooting Tuesday morning that left one person seriously hurt.
Police say officers responded to reports of the shooting just before 4am. When officers arrived, they found a 32 year-old male with a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Increased police presence is expected in the 1500 block of 22nd Street as the investigation into the shooting continues.
So far no arrests have been made, and DMPD says there's no ongoing threat to the public.
