Roland-Story Teacher Resigns Amid Investigation

(Story City, IA) -- A teacher under investigation for improperly communicating with students has resigned from the Roland-Story Community School District.

Superintendent Josh Johnson says Cole Carlson resigned instead of being fired.

A media release says Carlson was under investigation for unauthorized and inappropriate social media communication and conduct with students.

He served as a 7th Grade Math and Social Studies teacher at Roland-Story Middle School, according to the district's website.

No criminal charges have been filed yet.
