Man Facing Attempted Murder Charges Following Valentine’s Day Shooting

(Des Moines, IA) -- A man is facing attempted murder charges following a Valentine’s Day shooting in Des Moines.

Police say 23-year-old Clarence Phillips Vincent Jr. has been charged with three counts of attempted murder as well as felony drug charges.

Investigators say Phillips Vincent was with a group of people when someone in that group opened fire, hitting three individuals. All three victims are now recovering.

A search of Phillips Vincent’s home turned up what police described as a large amount of marijuana, drug distribution materials, and three handguns.

The investigation is ongoing.
