(Des Moines, IA) -- A man is in critical condition after crashing into a utility pole and a tree this morning in Des Moines.
Police say that shortly after 6 a.m., the man lost control of his pickup truck near East 7th Street and Ovid Avenue. The driver crashed the truck into a utility pole, then hit a fence before striking a tree next to a home and coming to a stop.
MidAmerican Energy crews are on scene working to repair the damaged utility pole.
