(Undated) -- Iowa is ranked among the highest in the nation for women's solo travel.
A study by Trusted House Sitters says Iowa is ranked second nationally for solo travel by women, which has grown by nearly 25 percent in the past two years.
The ranking is also based on the state's relatively low crime rate, making it a safe destination for women to travel alone.
The study also cites affordable transportation, beautiful scenery and broadband speeds that keep solo travelers connected for both work and leisure.
Pennsylvania earned the top spot for female solo travelers.
