(Des Moines, IA) -- A new report says Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has been using an Iowa State Patrol airplane purchased with federal COVID relief funds to travel around the state.
The Des Moines Register report says the Department of Public Safety paid $4.6-million for the 14-seat aircraft intended to patrol what they say was an increase in speeding during the pandemic.
The report says the airplane tracking website FlightAware shows several of the plane's 137 flights over the past year correspond with trips by the Governor.
Iowa law requires state aircraft to be used for official business.
