(Des Moines, IA) -- The Des Moines metro is receiving national recognition for its growing economic development.
Site Selection Magazine ranked Des Moines the #2 Top Performing Metro for Economic Development on its 2025 Governor's Cup list. The rankings are published every March and evaluate states, metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs), and micro-communities in terms of the their overall economic development, including factors such as corporate investment and expansion. The Des Moines metro's second-place ranking cites 37 projects across the area with a capital investment of over $2.5 billion dollars.
The Des Moines area was ranked against other similarly-sized MSAs from across the nation.
