(Iowa) -- A new national study ranks Iowa among the top half of the best states in the country for immigrants.
Non-profit tech website SmileHub looked at several factors including share of immigrants, Income Gap Between Immigrants & Non-Immigrants, number of hate crimes, and available social support. Iowa ranked as the 22nd best state in the country for immigrants, including 11th in the nation for its overall economic environment.
Coming in at the top of the list is Virginia, while Alaska came in last on the list of best U.S. states for immigrants. The full study is available on SmileHub's website.
