(Des Moines, IA) -- An exhibit featuring art from Des Moines Public Schools students will be on display at a free event Friday in Downtown Des Moines.

This month's First Friday event at Mainframe Studios includes a partnership with Des Moines Public Schools for a featured art exhibit. Julia Franklin with Mainframe tells WHO Radio News:

"This is the third time in a row that we are doing this, and it is part of March's art education month, and we are going to be highlighting 850 students represented from over 60 schools in the school district."

Mainframe Studios is located at 900 Keosauqua Way in Downtown Des Moines. The First Friday event is free and open to the public from 5pm-8pm and will feature family-friendly art displays, food and drinks available on every floor, as well as free art activities, including a freestyle dance class that attendees can take for free at this month's event. More than 220 artists will have their studios open to the public.
