(Iowa) -- A free event tomorrow Saturday will offer resources and support for new and expecting families in the Des Moines area.
Every Step and Healthy Start Consortia will host the annual Baby Bloom resource fair on Saturday, March 28th from 11am-2pm at Grandview University's Henning Student Center in Des Moines. The event for pregnant and one-year postpartum families is free and open to the public. Baby Bloom offers resources and education including information about low-cost or free health insurance through Hawki as well as free visits with a nurse, free iron and blood pressure checks, free dental screenings and more.
There will be a storytelling panel with Mindspring and PSI-Iowa at 12:30pm and 1:30pm where attendees will be able to learn about caring for their mental health. The first 200 attendees at the event will receive a free lunch. Grandview University's Henning Student Center is located at 2811 E. 14th Street in Des Moines.
