(Des Moines, IA) -- The Des Moines Police Department is offering an easy way to help first responders assess a situation quickly.

DMPD is offering First Responder Awareness stickers for those living with autism spectrum disorder, Alzheimer's or dementia, diabetes, epilepsy or seizure disorders, or other physical disabilities that can be displayed on vehicles or homes to alert officers that someone inside may have a disability. Stickers can be picked up at the Des Moines Police Department's information desk located in the first floor lobby at 25 E. 1st Street in Des Moines.

Those unable to go to the police department can ask to make other arrangements to pick up a sticker by emailing policepio@dmgov.org.
