(Elk Horn, Iowa) -- A new troll has taken up residence in Elk Horn, a 22‑foot‑tall wooden one.
Fjord Ferryman, created by world‑renowned Danish artist Thomas Dambo, is now on display at the Museum of Danish America.
The massive sculpture represents the migration of Danish immigrants to the Midwestern prairies in the late 1800s, highlighting Elk Horn’s deep and lasting Danish heritage.
The Elk Horn troll is one of 176 large‑scale wooden troll sculptures Dambo has created and installed around the world, all built from reclaimed and recycled materials
