(Omaha, NE) -- Omaha Mavericks Baseball Head Coach Evan Porter has announced his resignation effective following this 2026 season, his 10th leading his alma mater's program.
Porter said he is looking to spend more time with his family.
A 2009 alumnus of the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Porter, a former professional player and Major League Baseball draft pick, spent four seasons as an assistant coach before taking over as head coach in 2016.
Porter is in the UNO Athletic Hall of Fame for his playing career.
A national search will commence to find the seventh head coach in program history.
