(Des Moines, IA) -- Tonight marks the 22nd annual Ride of Silence in Des Moines, honoring cyclists who have been killed or injured on public roadways.

The 12-mile ride, presented by Bike Iowa, will begin at the southwest corner of the State Historical Museum in the East Village.

Organizers will read a list of cyclists who have been injured or killed, including more than 60 people in Iowa since the beginning of 2025. They say the ride is not only meant to honor those cyclists, but also to raise awareness that cyclists have a legal right to share the road.

The ride begins at 6:30 p.m.
