As the 2026 NCAA Men’s College World Series is about to begin, the Nebraska Department of Transportation encourages drivers to plan ahead using the Nebraska 511 website and app to plan their routes and stay informed about traffic and construction impacts in the Omaha Metro area.

With Nebraska 511, drivers can access real-time travel information, including road conditions, traffic speeds, construction updates, closures, traffic incidents, and more.

Travelers should be prepared for active construction projects along routes into Omaha and near downtown Omaha. NDOT encourages motorists to allow extra time to reach their destination.

Construction zones that may impact traffic include:

On the way to Omaha:

• I-680 NB/SB between West Dodge and Pacific Street. Traffic can be backed up in this area. Plan for delays. The speed limit is 55 miles per hour in this construction zone.

• I-80 from the Pleasant Dale interchange (MM 388) to NW 48th Street interchange (MM 395) in Lincoln. The speed limit is 65 miles per hour in this construction zone.

• US-75 SB between Cornhusker Road and Capehart Road in Bellevue. Traffic can be backed up in this area. Plan for delays and prepare to zipper merge when necessary.

On the way to the ballpark:

• I-480 between Farnam Street (MM 2) and Harney Street (MM 3). Traffic can be backed up in this area. Plan for delays and prepare to zipper merge.

NDOT reminds drivers to buckle up, slow down, pay attention, and keep the phone down in construction zones. If your plans involve drinking, make sure to plan ahead by designating a sober driver or arranging a rideshare.
