(Iowa) -- Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has issued a disaster proclamation for two Iowa counties in the aftermath of severe weather earlier this month.

The proclamation includes Cass and Decatur counties following severe storms starting on June 5th of this year and after. It activates the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program and the Disaster Case Advocacy Program for the affected counties and allows state resources to be used in recovery efforts.

The Iowa Individual Assistance Grant program offers eligible households up to $7,000 in grants to be used for home repair, replacement of personal property, or other storm-related recovery expenses. The Disaster Case Advocacy Program provides case advocates that will help homeowners dealing with significant financial hardship following storm damage. Advocates will help create a recovery plan and provide guidance throughout the recovery process.

The proclamation will last for 30 days unless terminated early or extended.
