(Johnston, Iowa) National Weather Service forecasters in Des Moines say the unseasonable warmth will continue into the first few days of December.
Highs will generally range from the middle 40s to the middle 50s across central Iowa, which is about 10 degrees above normal. November has also been dry with many places receiving less than a half inch of precipitation so far.
Combine these dry conditions with winds increasing from the south today and relative humidity falling this afternoon, there will be an elevated fire danger over the northwest portion of the state so use care with open flames or burning leaves or yard waste.
Dry weather will continue into at least the first part of the weekend with the next chance of precipitation expected late this weekend into early next week. Colder air is also expected to arrive to the region toward the middle to late part of next week.
