ICE agents arrest 32 men in Mount Pleasant, Iowa

UPDATE:  U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Public Affairs Officer Shawn Neudauer says authorities arrested 32 men today (Wednesday) in Mount Pleasant, Iowa for immigration violations.

The men were from Honduras, El Salvador,  Guatemala, and Mexico.

ICE says the men will stay in custody pending removal proceedings or the outcome of their cases.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa-  U.S. Immigration Special Agents and Deportation Officers with the Department of Homeland Security executed a search warrant in Mount Pleasant, Iowa today (Wednesday).   

A spokesperson for the federal agency says authorities are working on a criminal investigation, and there's no threat to the public.    No other details are being released at this time.

The Midwest Precast Concrete company has confirmed to our news partner, KCRG-TV, that their business was part of the investigation. 

A Mount Pleasant Presbyterian church has told WHO Radio News they are working with the local school district, offering shelter to any children of workers who may have been taken into custody.
