Police: Des Moines woman's death not a criminal case

UPDATE:    Des Moines Police tell WHO Radio News that it appears the death of a woman found in her home March 30th is not a criminal case.  Further lab tests are pending from the autopsy on 71-year-old Nancy Heimbaugh. Police had called Heimbaugh's death suspicious due to injuries she appeared to have suffered, and the fact her car was missing.  The car was found Friday night.

(DES MOINES, Iowa)   Des Moines Police are calling the death of a 71-year-old woman on the city's west side suspicious.   Police were called to 3923 29th Street Friday around 3:20 p.m. after relatives found the woman's body inside her home.  Her car, a gray 2016 Ford Taurus was missing.

The car was found last night.   Detectives are talking with neighbors, family, and known associates of the victim, and waiting for autopsy results.   Police Sergeant Paul Parezik says the woman did appear to have been injured.

The woman's name has not been released, pending notification of family.
