UPDATE: Newton, Iowa shooting suspects in custody

UPDATE

(NEWTON, Iowa)   Newton police say two men accused of shooting a man early Tuesday morning are both in custody.

Police issued arrest warrants for 19-year-old Adam Halterman Jr., and 17-year-old Jordan Corvino.   The two were wanted in connection of a shooting of 32-year-old Sidney Wims, who was shot in the buttocks.

Police say the shooting happened in the 800 block of 2nd Avenue West.   Wims was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.    

Halterman faces Willful Injury Causing Serious Injury, Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.  

Corvino is wanted for Willful Injury Causing Serious Injury, Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon and Carrying Weapons.

(NEWTON, IOWA)  Newton Police say a 32-year-old man was shot early this morning, and suffers a non-life threatening injury.   Officers were called to the 807 1/2  North Second Ave. W,  just before 3 o'clock this (Tuesday) morning.    They found a man, who had bee shot in the lower body.   He told police he knew the two suspects, who ran away from the scene.  The victim is hospitalized in stable condition.

Police say they believe it was an isolated incident, and the community's not in any danger.

Police have not released the names of the suspects, who remain at large.
