UPDATE: Des Moines work release escapee captured

Thirty-four year old Joseph Patrick Polson, who left the Fort Des Moines Residential Correctionaly Facility Monday, is back in custody and was taken to the Polk County Jail June 14th.  No other information is available at this time.

Iowa Corrections officials say Joseph Patrick Polson, who was convicted of intimidation with a dangerous weapon in Polk County, escaped from the Fort Des Moines Residential Correctional Facility at 11:35 am today (Monday).  

The facility's security camera shows him exiting the main door, taking items from his locker, and going northbound away from facility grounds. 

Polson is a 34-year-old White male, height 5'11” and weighing 230 pounds. He was admitted to the work release facility on March 24, 2017.

Persons with information on Polson's whereabouts should contact the local police.
