Most Central Iowans aren't familiar with Jester Park or how gorgeous it is. It's for that reason Justin and Leila Rush (in for Adrianne) invited Kami Rankin from Polk Country Conservation into the studio. Here are the top 5 things you should know about the park.

1. 2018 is a BIG Year

2018 is the 60th Anniversary of Jester Park and will also be the grand opening of Jester Park's new Jester Park Nature Center. The nature center will have oodles of activities for young and old!

2. How Many Campsites?

Jester Park has 168 campsites, both electric, non-electric, walk-in, and youth areas. Plus 4 modern cabins to satisfy overnight stays!

3. Jester Park's Hidden Perks

Jester Park has a golf course, equestrian center, and a very unique natural playground, made up of only natural elements. All of these features add to the diverse experiences in the park.

4. Bison and Animals

Many central Iowans have no idea Jester Park is home to a small bison and elk herd. They live in the park and have been one of Jester Park's top attractions since the park opened to the public.

5. Miles of Trails

The park offers more than 8 miles of natural trails that offer beautiful scenic views of Saylorville Lake and dense woodland. They also have several areas for you to get away and meditate or do some yoga. Go ahead, take it all in.
