This outdoor entertainment concept has caught fire throughout the entire nation but for some reason it skipped Iowa... until now. Now Kerri Lockyear is bringing the "eat-ertainment" concept to West Des Moines and it has something the others don't!
Smashpark will be opening in West Des Moines and the venue will have 17,000 squre feet of outdoor pickleball courts, bags, bocce ball and of course lots of beer and outdoor street food-inspired fare, but that's not all. Unlike similar venues, Smashpark will feature 25,000 squft of indoor space as well, meaning you now have a fun place to go have fun in the winter time!
Pickleball started in 1965 but recently it has caught on and is now the fastest growing sport in the country. It's a cross between ping pong and tennis, and it uses a paddle to hit a whiffle ball.
Lockyear told us the park is located right next to Jordan Creek Town Center and will have 6 dedicated indoor pickleball courts with 2 outdoors courts. They visited plenty of outdoor venues to do some research and they can confidently say this is one of a kind.
