House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says President Trump's current feud with Twitter is part of an "outrageous situation" involving social media.
She told a briefing that Twitter did the right thing by fact-checking Trump's recent, unsubstantiated claims about mail-in voting and alleged voter fraud. However, she accused Twitter and Facebook of being very selective about what they choose to regulate.
Pelosi said social media giants are all about making money "at the expense of the truth and the facts." She also argued that they have "no responsibility for the truth."
Meantime, Pelosi called Trump's Twitter feud a distraction to divert attention from the administration's response to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
