Opera at Camp Dodge? Manage Your Diabetes (Bonnie's blog 1-25-17)

Singer Michael Mayes and Stage Director Kristine McIntyre joined us in the studio this morning just after the 8:30 news to promote the Des Moines Metro Opera's production of "Soldier Songs".  This Opera will be performed in the Deployment Hall at Camp Dodge.  There is a special production on Thursday for veterans. The public performances will be this Friday at 7:30PM, Saturday at 7:30PM and Sunday at 2PM.  For tickets, go to www.DesMoinesMetroOpera.org or call 515-961-6221.  Tickets are almost sold out, so act right away!

Hailey Boudreau, a dietitian with the Ankeny Prairie Trail Hy-Vee and Daphne Dickens of the American Diabetes Association joined us in the studio this morning just after the 7:30 news.  January 31st from 2-6PM, you can tour the Healthy You Mobile Bus at this Ankeny Hy-Vee and get your blood pressure and body fat percentage tested free of charge.  You can also donate blood on the LifeServe Bus.  The American Diabetes Association will be discussing your risk for developing diabetes and how to care for yourself or a loved one with diabetes from 4-6PM.  You can test your A1c for $35.00.  For more information, go to www.diabetes.org.
