New Restaurants Coming to Des Moines....The Iowa Barnstormers are in town this weekend...Pencil drawing pictures! (Bonnie's blog 3/23/17)

Elise Vaux works with restaurants in wine sales and she joined us this morning just after the 6:30 news to talk about new restaurants and bars coming to Des Moines very soon.  Bar Tareau on Court will be coming April 5th, Hello Marjorie will be opening soon in the old Des Moines Register Building and St. Kilda on SW 5th Street will feature healthy foods and will be a great breakfast spot, will probably open around mid-May. Elise will be joining us in the studio from time to time to give us updates on the restaurant culture.

Joe Stasi, voice of the Iowa Barnstormers, joined us in the studio this morning just after the 7:30 news.  The Iowa Barnstormers are 2-2 with all of their games so far on the road.  This Sunday is their first home game this season at 3:00PM.  They have an all new coaching staff with a lot of NFL experience!  Get your tickets today and join us for Indoor Football!  It's a lot of fun and you'll see people of all ages, from all walks of life and lots of kids too!  It's Mascot Day at the game too.

We had a Van & Bonnie pencil drawing today with the winner receiving 4 tickets to the Iowa Energy game this Saturday night at Wells Fargo.  The first picture is Van's picture that he used to tell everyone what to draw.  The next picture is mine and the final picture is Leila's.  Lots of's a basketball being thrown into the hoop!  Remember, the Battle of the Badges game featuring the Polk County Sheriff's Office vs. the Des Moines Police Department begins at 5PM...ahead of the Iowa Energy game.
