Four-time IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon and his race strategist Mike Hull joined us in the studio this morning just after the 7AM news. Scott just won Sunday's race at Road America for his 41st career victory in 280 starts. He will be competing in the IndyCar Series race at the Iowa Speedway on Sunday, July 9th..get your tickets! Scott had a terrible crash at the Indianapolis 500...check out this video of the crash!
Ed Capen, VP of Sponsorship & AutoCross Racing for the Good Guys Rod & Custom Heartland Nationals, joined us in the studio this morning shortly after the 8:30 news. June 30th thru July 2nd, the Iowa State Fairgrounds will be covered in gorgeous cars from 1912 thru 1972! You'll be able to see around 6,000 hot rods, customs, classics, street rods, muscle cars and trick trucks. There will be Autocross racing all three days and Fireworks on Saturday night. On Sunday, all years of American made and powered vehicles are welcome to be part of the show n' shine awards. Show hours are Friday 8AM-5PM, Saturday 8AM-8PM and Sunday 8AM-3PM.
Kyle Barton joined us shortly after the 7:30 news. Kyle is huge into anything Iowa, including the Iowa State Fair. Kyle has entered as many as 30 contests, but his forte is the hog calling contest. He has won the event many times here in Iowa as well as in Nebraska and Illinois. He has made appearances on the Today Show and the Steve Harvey Show. Coming up, he will be on the Gong Show...be sure to watch him on July 6th at 9PM. Due to his contract, he could not tell us whether he got the gong or not!
