There are only a couple days left in the career of Iowa broadcasting legend Van Harden and Wednesday was one of the busiest mornings he's ever had!
First, he was surprised by a group of people in Winterset for a series of special announcements:
After that, the Iowa Pork Producers came into the studio for a meal and to thank Van for what he's done for them over the years:
Just as he thought things were winding down, he got a call from Speed Herrig from Cookie's Sauces and was joined by Simon Conway and Jeff Angelo:
From there, his old friend Terry Rich, newly retired in his own right from the Iowa Lottery and the Blank Park Zoo, called in to welcome him to the club:
Lastly, Van got a call from Mayor Jim Peters from his hometown of Adel, Iowa. Mayor Peters read a proclamation for Van:
It was a special day and Thursday will be another special one as Van spends the show at the Mills Civic Hy-Vee as he winds down his 50-year career this week.
